Lock Assist was started 14 years ago by Paul Harper-Smith who was taken on as an apprentice by his Uncle Colin in 1983.  Colin Harper-Smith worked at Chubb in London for many years before starting his own locksmith’s business in 1971.

We have 3 full time employed locksmiths including a time served carpenter so as well as locks, we can also upgrade and replace doors – particularly fire doors – including intumescent fire and smoke seals, stainless stell, ball-bearing hinges to BS EN 1935 and door closers to BS EN 1154.

We have a large a varied base of commercial contract customers and domestic customers and offer a 24 hour emergency service if you find yourself locked out or have keys stolen.

Lock Assist have a wide and thorough knowledge of locks and architectural ironmongery gained from over 50 years experience in the security industry. Experienced with Ministry of Defence, Government sites (including local councils, universities, colleges and schools) and solicitors and estate agents work.
